Yesterday I tried the slip knot… AND SUCCEEDED!!!
I failed at first but got there in no time. After mastering the slip knot I then proceeded to cast on which after watching the video turned out to be pretty easy, (Thank goodness for that) ,which brings me one step closer to achieving my goal.
As my friend has also decided to do knitting for her DofE Bronze award I helped her out. I taught her to do a slip knot, (so she could start casting on), and then showed her how to do the casting on bit. Unfortunately she didn’t retain most of what I showed her, so I’ll try again.
Today I hope to learn how to knit a swatch and cast off, but we’ll see how that goes. Wish me luck!
